David Stacks, director of the Texas Prison Museum in Huntsville, will discuss Clyde Barrow’s time as a TDJC inmate and reveal some things not generally known about the Waco-born outlaw. After inmate 63527 got out of prison, he teamed up with Bonnie Parker. They went on to become one of the Depression era’s deadliest outlaw duos, until former Texas Ranger Capt. Frank Hamer tracked them down 90 years ago.
Stacks will be bringing a Colt .45 semiauto former Texas Ranger Capt. Frank Hamer removed from Bonnie Parker’s body on May 23, 1934. He later presented the handgun to Prison Director Lee Simmons.
