The Board of Directors of the Former Texas Rangers Foundation (FTRF) has appointed Jody Edward Ginn, PhD, as the first Executive Director of the Texas Rangers Heritage Center (TRHC) in Fredericksburg, effective September 1, 2019.
Dr. Ginn is a life member of the FTRA and a Captain level member of the FTRF. He has served as an education and curatorial consultant for the Foundation since 2009, and as Association Historian since 2014. A former law enforcement investigator/administrator and U.S. Army veteran who has worked for over a decade as a curatorial/multi-media consultant to museums, educational institutions/non-profits, filmmakers and publicity agents, Dr. Ginn most recently worked as a consultant to the blockbuster new Netflix Original Film, The Highwaymen , starring Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson.
The appointment of Dr. Ginn as Executive Director of the TRHC represents a significant step in bringing Phase II of the project—a modern educational exhibits facility and archival repository—to fruition. “This is a crucial moment in the organization’s history,” Dr. Ginn said.
“The Board has worked tirelessly for many years to complete Phase I and lay the groundwork for Phase II, and I am honored to have been selected to lead the planning and development for the final steps in creating a world-class, inclusive history education facility that will serve many future generations of Texans.” |
