Ranger Bio
Ranger Leroy Tillman Kelso was born in Mississippi in 1847 and his family arrived in Texas in 1850. When the Comanches were raiding in the Hill Country, Leroy joined the Frontier Forces Battalion of the Texas Rangers and served under Captain Dan Roberts from 1874-1875. During a pursuit in the Indian Wars, Leroy was shot in the leg by an Indian rifle ball destroying his calf muscle. He lived an active life until March 18, 1903.
